Gitzo presents two completely new Series 2 tripods that bring advanced materials, Gitzo technology, performance and quality to our aluminium tripod range. The innovative tripods follow a completely different approach to the weight issue of aluminium tripods. All other tripods manufactures try to reduce the weight of their aluminium tripods by reducing the thickness of the aluminium tubes (0,8 – 1 mm). This leads to weak and unstable tripods. Gitzo instead maintains thicker 1,2 mm tubes for additional rigidity and strength, and reduce weight of other components by employing new technologies. The result is an overall 30% weight reduction without compromising on strength and stability.

Intended use
 Recommended for lightweight camcorders, spotting scopes and DSLRs with 200mm lenses, up to a 300mm maximum. Excellent maximum load capacity and good torsional rigidity, available in 3- and 4-section models at standard and eye level heights. Series 2 is the ideal solution for photographers that are looking for a solid tripod without sacrificing weight.

Main advantages
 The castings are made of Soulid 238, our unique technical compound which is 30% lighter than magnesium but just as strong and wich has great vibration damping properties. We’ve incorporated a Basalt center column (20% lighter than aluminium) for further weight reduction and to improve stabilisation and performance. Most importantly, the aluminum tube used for the legs is also new: 30% lighter than its predecessor, with Anti Leg Rotation system (ALR), 1.2mm wall thickness and brushed matt black finish for improved locking performance and minimised reflectivity. We’ve also put technology to work on the leg warmers: 50% lighter, softer and with a new ergonomic design that maximises grip and comfort when the tripod is carried over the shoulder. New aluminum tripods feature Ground Level Set and removable feet. These tripods come with a convenient anti-dust bag for storage and packing.
