Description
Fujifilm are extremely pleased to introduce the FinePix S100FS (Film
Simulation) digital camera, our most advanced DSLR-styled camera to
date. The FinePix S100FS provides an all-in-one solution for
photo enthusiasts and advanced amateur photographers seeking the manual
controls and functionality of a DSLR without the bulk, hassle and
expense of additional lenses and other accessories. Photographers
will appreciate the ease of use and shooting versatility offered by
Optical Image Stabilisation and high sensitivity anti-blur systems, and
Fujifilm's acclaimed Face Detection 2.0 Technology with automatic
red-eye removal, while enjoying a wide dynamic range of 100-400% that's
previously only been available to users of the highest-end D-SLR
cameras, and film simulation modes that only Fujifilm can provide. The FinePix S100FS represents the cutting edge of Fujifilm's imaging
technology innovation, and redefines what users can expect from a
compact digital camera.
Incorporating a newly developed ultrahigh precision Fujinon lens this model is optimised for nature photography.
Featuring
a new lens shift image stabilisation mechanism the expertly designed
Fujinon lens uses a sensor to detect and compensate for vibration
within the camera body. (Equivalent to about three f stops).*
The mechanical zoom offers framing with fingertip precision as well as
offering a user experience that closely matches the use of a high end
digital SLR.
Unlike interchangeable lenses, this one's fixed to the camera
forever. And that is a good thing – not only will the interior of the
camera be protected from dust and the elements, but you also have an
incredible zoom range at your disposal. The FinePix S100FS incorporates
a high-magnification 14.3x zoom lens which covers a broad zoom range
from a wide angle of 28mm to long telephoto of 400mm and Super Macro
for shots as close as 1cm from the subject (wide angle end). The
flexibility within this lens means that precise framing has never been
easier. Fujinon optics have an enviable reputation within the
photography industry for their clarity and quality, and the lens on the
F100FS lives up to the name. The 13 element structure,
exclusively designed for the FinePix S100FS, uses a non-spherical
surface lens and an anomalous dispersion lens.
The
non-spherical surface lens suppresses distortion and the curved surface
is ideal for efficient focusing of light onto one point, therefore
achieving high optical performance with a small number of elements. In
addition it reduces colour drift and mixing on contours, which can be a
problem with telephoto lenses.
By suppressing reflected light
inside the lens barrel the FinePix S100FS also eliminates ghost images
and flare, delivering superb results.
