Description
With the Creative Aperture Kit, you can custom cut your aperture
disks into any aperture shape you want.
Out of focus specular highlights (bright points of light like street
lights) will take on the shape of the hole in your aperture disk. Lights
lining the expanse of a city bridge suddenly turn into hundreds of tiny
stars, instead of little dots of light.
This effect also works in more subtly lit situations. A photo of a
woodsy scene can appear to have a star pattern when shooting with a star
aperture disk, if the light is shining through lots of leafy trees.
Creative aperture disks are meant to be dropped into your Lensbaby
optic in place of one of the round hole aperture disks that come with
all Lensbaby optics. Instead of a round f/4, for example, you can use a
star aperture disk.
Just make sure to place some of these bright points of light in the
blurry part of the image (not the sweet spot of focus) – otherwise those
cool shapes won’t appear. The more you bend and blur your image, the
more pronounced these shapes become.
Our Creative Aperture Kit contains a heart and a star pre-cut disk to
help you get started, plus five blank disks for you to get creative
with. Use craft store hole punches or an exacto knife to cut your own
shapes.
Your Creative Aperture will float above the optic in a shielded
magnetic field.
Lensbaby Creative Aperture Kit contains: 1 heart ( f/4 ), 1 star (
f/4 ), and 5 blank disks.
Lensbaby Creative Aperture Kit Blanks contains 10 blank disks.
Compatible with the Muse, Composer, Control Freak, Lensbaby
2.0, and Lensbaby 3G lenses and with Double Glass, Single Glass, Plastic
and Soft Focus Optics.
